Dance, Pioneer, Dance
I sent home a poem with your children today. They will be doing it in groups of three. Each student has been assigned specific lines in the poem. They need to work on memorizing their part at home. Those will be due March 10th. This is part of their oral report grade.
Book Battle!
Parents! We are having our annual book battle against Butterfield Canyon! I will be sending home a calendar tomorrow. They need to keep track of any minutes they read at home over the next two weeks. This is a different calendar than their reading calendar. It will be due March 5th! It must have a parent’s signature to count! Happy Reading!
Valentine Party!
We had a great party! Thanks to all who helped out! We had a contest and students voted on the best Valentine mailboxes. We made bookmarks, frosted cookies, played tic-tac-toe, unscrambaling words, and ate lots of delicious treats! Click here to see pictures!

Over The Break…
Hi Parents! Just a few things going on while we’re off track to fill you in on…
1) Literacy Night- Feb. 4th 6:30-8:00 in the gym. Brandon Mull will be there signing autographs. It’s a lot of fun! Hope you can come.
2) January reading calendars are due when we come back. I sent home February ones today.
3) We will celebrate Valentine’s Day on Friday the 19th. There is a contest for decorating their Valenting box- its optional (for fun) not required. Also, they are welcome to bring treats for classmates, I just ask that they bring one for everyone or none at all, so no one gets left out. I sent home a list of our class today.
See you when we get back! Enjoy your break
Recorders
Students need to bring their recorders and music books to school on Thursday!
Things to know this week!
Parents! We have a busy couple of days ahead of us. Here’s what you need to know:
*Wed: We are having our class party that they earned. They can dress up if they like (i.e. if they’re in a martial arts class and want to wear their belt, they can). We are doing an Asian party. There will be origami, food, games- lots of fun!
Also, film club will be meeting
*Thurs: Spelling and Vocab. test & Rendezvous
*** Their Native American/Mountain Man project is due
* Fri: Track off and Auction!
Have a great week!
Recorders and Math
This is important for Wednesday! Our recorders have finally arrived. If your child has their own recorder and/or music book they need to bring them tomorrow. We will be using their recorders ut to the last week of school. They will need to bring it every day that they have music.
Also, I made an error on their math from last week’s homework! I graded them incorrectly, so they did much better than I had thought. I appologize! I am correcting them tonight, so they won’t be bringing them home to fix, but they will be in their Friday folder.

Mind Over Matter
The survey is due tomorrow!
Also- Tuesday I am going to send home their homework from last week. No one did too well on it. I am going to suggest that they fix it, so I can change and raise their scores!
