Tonight’s homework

We did a review packet in class today. If your child hasn’t finished it, they need to work on that. They may need some help with some of it. I checked all the their papers and marked the ones that still needed to be corrected.  If they are working on that- they don’t need to do any other math tonight. You would just write “review worksheet” on their math box homwork record paper. If they still have questions, they can come in and talk to me in the morning before school and I will help them with it.

Math Test

Parents- we are having a math test on Wed. It will be about graphs- line graphs, line plots, stem and leaf plots, coordinates, bar graphs, and pictographs. They may need to focus on the stem and leaf plots over the next few days. They were a little confused today. I will try and review it with them tomorrow in class. They also need to understand how to find range, median, and mode of a group of numbers!  We will start a new unit with new math box assignments next week!

Jog-a-thon

Just a reminder! This Thursday is the Jog-a-thon! Your children must have the permission slip signed and turned in on the 24th or they cannot participate!  Even if they don’t raise any funds, they can still run- if they have permission! If they don’t want to run, that’s fine. Depending on how many sign up to run, those who don’t turn in slips will either watch and cheer on their classmates or continue their regular class assignments while others run out on the field.

Symphony Field Trip

Parents- we had an awesome field trip to the Utah Symphony this week! Check out the new pictures posted from our trip!

Multiplication! Multiplication!

Hey parents! Just a reminder- The most important thing that your child can learn over the next few months is their multiplication tables! It is important that they know them by December. We will get into long division and two or three digit multiplication in January! If they don’t know their facts, they will really struggle! We practice daily in class, but helping at home is certainaly going to be very helpful to their success this year! Thanks for all you do!

Spelling, vocab., and homework

Hi Parents! Hope you had a good weekend! I am a little concerned about spelling, vocab., and homework! I am not getting the math box papers turned in like I should be. I am missing at least half of the classes from last Friday! Please help your children do these assignments and turn in the work to me. It is important that they get their practice in every night. Also, I am noticing that a lot of students are not studying their spelling words! SEP night (conferences) are only a month away! I am concerned about what their grades will be if more of the students don’t start doing better on these tests!

Fundraiser Reminder

Just a reminder! Keep working on those fundraiser packets. if they turn in the yellow/ red form by tomorrow they get a treat! Thanks for you support!
