Books for Africa

Parents! One of our students at school is collecting books to donate to children in Africa! They are going over this summer to help build a library. If you have anything you would like to donate, please bring it before we go off track! I am sure those kids would really appreciate it!

Pioneer Day!

Dear Parents-

The Friday of the week we track back on- May 14- we will be having Pioneer Day as a whole class! Due to the fact that we won’t have time to take care of planning the week of, we are planning this week. Two notes have been sent home. Please read them over. They yellow one must be returned. Anything you have is due by this Friday! If student’s don’t bring it back, they must bring a lunch from home and cannot buy a school cold lunch. Thanks for your help!

Tests this week!

Tomorrow there will be a math test on decimals. They need to know how to estimate, add, and subtract them. Everyone has done pretty well in class. The biggest mistakes that I notice are that they forget to line-up the decimals or they forget to see if they are supposed to add or subtract and get the wrong answer.

There will also be a science test on Rocks, Minerals, and Soil on Wed. and Thrus. this week. I told the class they could take home their notes to study.

Recorders!

Monday, the class has music! Please have your child bring the recorder!

Picture Day!

Parents- picture day is on Tuesday, the day we come back from the break!

*Also- I am missing many reading calendars for the month of March!

March Reading Calendars!

They are due tomorrow! : )

Other important things this week

On Wednesday, the fourth grade is doing a reward party for students that have completed their work. Work that is not finished will have to be done during this time. Those students know who they are. Talking has been a big problemĀ  with this class. As a result, there are also some students who will not be able to participate because of talking during class. They also know who they are. For those that are finished and have not lost the privilege, we will be playing board games. They can bring any games playing 2-8 people, but they can’t be electrionic. Battery run pieces are ok. We just don’t want nintendos, DS’s, video games, etc.

Vocab. This week

Dear Parents,

The substitute on Friday didn’t hand out the vocab. words. Due to that, there will be no vocab. test this week!

Unexcused absence mix-up

Parents- a lot of you asked about the “unexcused absences” on their report cards. The district got back to me and said they had a glitch in the system. They are working on getting it fixed. Hope that helps!

*Also, for Monday, remind students to bring their recorders.

Treasure Books!

Parents! Our treasure books came in today! Be sure to take a look, they worked really hard on those! : )
